Yvette Montalvo
Director and Instructor, CPR Certified
American Montessori Society Certified Teacher
Yvette is a native Spanish speaker. She received her B.A. in Marketing and Spanish from UT Austin. Her studies emphasized cross cultural communications, Spanish literature and language. She has lived and studied in Mexico where she continues to make yearly visits for family reunions and to expand her life education along with that of her students. Her most recent visit was in the summer of 2008 for the completion of her Montessori Training with CEM (Centro de Entrenamiento Montessori) in Monterrey.
Yvette has been teaching children since 1994. She fosters the language development of her students though a holistic linguistic education involving the mind, body and spirit of each child. In order to capture each child’s learning needs, she uses various approaches to teaching through songs, props, visual aids, sign language, literature, hands-on projects and every day natural experiences. Her teaching style allows each child to learn in a comfortable setting and gives each individual a strong framework on which they can grow and develop confidence in speaking and learning a foreign language.
Along with being a Spanish Instructor, Yvette is also a dancer with Lannaya Drum and Dance, a gardener, gymnast, massage therapist, and world traveler.
